Carol L Farmer, MA, LAC, LASAC
Carol Farmer is licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health as a Licensed Associate Counselor and Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Fort Hays State University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from The University of Texas at San Antonio. Carol is working toward earning a Doctor of Education in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Behavioral Health from Grand Canyon University. Carol’s area of research focuses on Vicarious Post-Traumatic Growth in Trauma Therapists.
Carol’s therapeutic experience is in supporting eating disorder and substance abuse populations with co-occurring mental health diagnoses. She has worked in a variety of treatment settings and specializes in building hope in recovery through the use of Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Trauma processing in individual and group settings.
Carol is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy by the EMDR institute and as a Clinical Trauma Specialist-Individual by the Arizona Trauma Institute. She is passionate about empowering trauma survivors to create a sense of personal safety while desensitizing the impact of their past traumatic experiences.
