Dr. Williams provides part-time medical management for patients struggling with eating disorders and co-occuring mental health issues. She specializes in providing integrated physical and mental health care. She has spent over a decade treating eating, substance use and co-occurring disorders. Dr. Williams understands the unique challenges of recovery and patients seek her out for her honest and compassionate approach to achieving physical and mental wellness. Dr. Williams goes the extra mile to develop a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan that supports each patient’s long-term recovery success. She is a board certified Family Medicine physician and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. Dr. Williams received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine and completed her Family Medicine residency training at Mayo Clinic Arizona.
Dr. Williams began the first 10 years of her career working for Remuda Ranch (at The Meadows), an inpatient psychiatric facility that specializes in treating eating, addiction and co-occurring disorders. During her tenure, she provided direct patient care for hundreds of medically and psychiatrically complex patients and served in multiple leadership roles. Dr. Williams was able to parlay her diverse mental health patient care and leadership experiences into her current position as CEO of Liberation Center.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Williams is a dynamic speaker who has appeared on multiple local and national television programs and given numerous lectures at national professional conferences. Her areas of special interest include positive body image advocacy and inclusivity in mental health care. Dr. Williams is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals and Binge Eating Disorder Association.
