Nutritional treatment is an essential component to recovery from an eating disorder, and Melissa extends a passion for the eating disorder recovery community by providing nutritional expertise to transform poor relationships with food to realistic, healthy relationships with food. Melissa earned a Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics & Institutional Administration and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. She then completed an intensive Dietetic Internship and Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from Texas Woman’s University. Ms. Daniels is a Texas-native, but moved to Arizona to allow for the opportunity to expand her nutrition career and build her expertise in the profession of nutrition. Melissa has experience with the nutritional treatment of bariatric surgery patients (LAP band, Sleeve Gastrectomy and Gastric Bypass), as well as the nutritional treatment of patients undergoing in-patient treatment, residential-type treatment, partial hospitalization treatment, and outpatient services for eating disorders. In addition, Melissa has had the opportunity to be involved with local news channels in the promotion of healthy nutrition practices for the general public. Ms. Daniels has been featured on ABC-15 Sonoran Living, NBC-12 Arizona Midday KPNX and Channel 3 AZ KTVK, as well as being a speaker for continuing education presentations. Melissa is a member of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, The National Eating Disorders Association, The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, and an activist for positive body image.
